Question

If a person, while going somewhere for a certain task, says: “Whatever Allah wills” (جو اللہ کو منظور ہو گا) — is this correct to say?

Answer

Alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala Rasulillah, amma ba’d!

Yes, saying this is completely correct.

When someone sets out for a task and says “Whatever Allah wills”, it is a statement of tawakkul (reliance on Allah), iman, and belief in Allah’s decree. A person should always condition his plans and intentions upon Allah’s will, as commanded in the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

These words reflect that the servant understands that the outcome depends entirely on Allah’s will — man can only make an effort, but success or failure is in Allah’s hands. Hence, such expressions are correct and sound in terms of Islamic belief.
