Is It Permissible to Pray an Extra (Precautionary) Zuhr After Jumu‘ah?

Answer by Monthly Al-Sunnah, Jhelum

Praying an extra (precautionary) Zuhr Salah after Jumu‘ah is a bid‘ah (innovation) and a rejected practice. There is no evidence for it in the Qur'an, Hadith, consensus of the Ummah (Ijma‘), or the practice of the Salaf (pious predecessors).

Why Is It Incorrect?

It is an unnecessary interference in the religion and goes against the teachings of Shari‘ah.

No fabricated or self-imposed conditions should be applied to determine the validity of Jumu‘ah Salah.

Conclusion

Praying a precautionary Zuhr after Jumu‘ah is an innovation (bid‘ah) and contradicts Islamic teachings. It should not be practiced.
