I take care of my husband’s father. He has no one else besides my husband. Is it permissible for me to bathe him and fulfill other personal needs?
Serving your husband’s father is a noble act for which you are deserving of gratitude. It is a favor both upon the elderly man and your husband. You may bathe him except for his private parts. If he is unable to cleanse his private area himself, you may do so while wearing gloves, ensuring that your hand does not come into direct contact with his private parts.
Likewise, you should lower your gaze from his private parts, because it is not permissible for you to look at the private part of any man other than your husband. The same ruling applies to the husband regarding women other than his wife.
