A Research Review of the Hadith Regarding the Age of Sayyiduna Jibril (AS)

A question was asked regarding a narration commonly heard in Barelvi circles. The question stated:
According to Seerat Halabiyyah, Volume 1, page 30, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked Sayyiduna Jibril (AS) about his age.
He replied:
"There is a star in the sky that appears once every 70,000 years, and I have seen it appear 72,000 times."
Upon this, the Prophet ﷺ said:
"That star was me."
The purpose of the question is to verify the authenticity of this narration and to determine whether it is actually present in Seerat Halabiyyah.
Alhamdulillah, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ‘alā Rasūlillāh, ammā ba‘d!
✿ No such narration is known to us.
✿ Upon carefully reviewing the reference you provided (Seerat Halabiyyah, Vol. 1, p. 30), we did not find this narration there either.
✿ Therefore, it is necessary to ask for the original source of this narration from those who quote it or from the person you heard it from.
