◈ The Renowned Seven Imams of Hadith (الأئمة السبعة)

❀ Imam Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله)
One of the four leading Imams accepted globally. Born in Rabī‘ al-Awwal 164 AH and passed away on Friday, 12 Rabī‘ al-Awwal 241 AH. Renowned for his steadfastness during trials in Islam and memorized one million Hadiths. It is said that 20,000 people accepted Islam on the day of his demise.

❀ Imam Muḥammad ibn Ismā‘īl al-Bukhārī (رحمه الله)
A leading figure in the science of Hadith. Born in Shawwāl 194 AH and passed away on the night of ‘Eid al-Fiṭr 256 AH. His book Al-Jāmi‘ al-Ṣaḥīḥ is considered the most authentic book after the Qur’an.

❀ Imam Muslim ibn Ḥajjāj (رحمه الله)
A great scholar of Hadith. Born in 204 AH and passed away in Rajab 261 AH. His Ṣaḥīḥ is the second most authentic book of Hadith after Bukhārī’s.

❀ Imam Abū Dāwūd Sulaimān ibn al-Ash‘ath (رحمه الله)
Compiler of Sunan Abī Dāwūd. Born in 203 AH and passed away on Friday, 15 Shawwāl 275 AH. Authored Hadiths with exceptional accuracy.

❀ Imam Abū ‘Īsā Muḥammad ibn ‘Īsā al-Tirmidhī (رحمه الله)
Compiler of Jāmi‘ al-Tirmidhī. Born in 209 AH and passed away on 13 Rajab 279 AH. A distinguished student of Imam Bukhārī, he became blind due to excessive crying at the loss of his teacher.

❀ Imam Abū ‘Abd al-Raḥmān al-Nasā’ī (رحمه الله)
Compiler of Al-Sunan al-Mujtabā. Born in 215 AH and passed away in 303 AH. Known for minimal weak narrations in his collection. He was martyred due to his defense of the virtues of Imam ‘Alī (رضي الله عنه).

❀ Imam Ibn Mājah (رحمه الله)
Compiler of Sunan Ibn Mājah. Born in 207 AH and passed away in Ramaḍān 273 or 275 AH. Despite the presence of weak narrations in his collection, he is regarded among the major Hadith scholars.
