This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal Kilani's book "Al-Wala Wal Bara".
عزائم الکفار ضد المسلمین
The disbelievers want the Muslims to become disbelievers like themselves.
[وَدُّوۡا لَوۡ تَکۡفُرُوۡنَ کَمَا کَفَرُوۡا فَتَکُوۡنُوۡنَ سَوَآءً]
They want that just as they themselves are disbelievers, you also become disbelievers so that you and they all become the same.
Reference: (Surah An-Nisa:89)
The disbelievers envy the Muslims and want them to abandon their religion.
[وَدَّ کَثِیۡرٌ مِّنۡ اَہۡلِ الۡکِتٰبِ لَوۡ یَرُدُّوۡنَکُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ اِیۡمَانِکُمۡ کُفَّارًا ۚۖ حَسَدًا مِّنۡ عِنۡدِ اَنۡفُسِہِمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَیَّنَ لَہُمُ الۡحَقُّ ۚ فَاعۡفُوۡا وَ اصۡفَحُوۡا حَتّٰی یَاۡتِیَ اللّٰہُ بِاَمۡرِہٖ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ قَدِیۡرٌ]
Due to the envy of their own selves, most of the People of the Book wish that you turn away from faith and revert to disbelief, even though the truth (Islam) has become clear to them. You should deal with them with forgiveness and pardon until Allah Himself enforces His judgment upon them. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
Reference: (Surah Al-Baqarah:109)
The disbelievers will always be at war with the Muslims until the Muslims abandon their religion.
[وَ لَا یَزَالُوۡنَ یُقَاتِلُوۡنَکُمۡ حَتّٰی یَرُدُّوۡکُمۡ عَنۡ دِیۡنِکُمۡ اِنِ اسۡتَطَاعُوۡا ؕ]
The disbelievers will always fight you until, if possible, they turn you away from your religion.
Reference: (Surah Al-Baqarah:217)
Disbelievers want to mislead Muslims through various tricks.
[وَ قَالَتۡ طَّآئِفَۃٌ مِّنۡ اَہۡلِ الۡکِتٰبِ اٰمِنُوۡا بِالَّذِیۡۤ اُنۡزِلَ عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَجۡہَ النَّہَارِ وَ اکۡفُرُوۡۤا اٰخِرَہٗ لَعَلَّہُمۡ یَرۡجِعُوۡنَ]
A group among the People of the Book says, "Believe in what has been revealed to the believers of this Prophet in the morning, and disbelieve in it in the evening, so that the Muslims may (fall into doubts and suspicions) and turn away from their religion."
Reference: (Surah Al-Imran:72)
Disbelievers flatter Muslims verbally, but in their hearts, they harbor hatred for them.
[یُرۡضُوۡنَکُمۡ بِاَفۡوَاہِہِمۡ وَ تَاۡبٰی قُلُوۡبُہُمۡ ۚ وَ اَکۡثَرُہُمۡ فٰسِقُوۡنَ]
Disbelievers try to please you with their tongues, but their hearts deny, and most of them are defiantly disobedient.
Reference: (Surah At-Tawbah:8)
Polytheists and Jews are the worst enemies of Muslims.
[لَتَجِدَنَّ اَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَۃً لِّلَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوا الۡیَہُوۡدَ وَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَشۡرَکُوۡا ۚ]
You will find the greatest enmity from the polytheists and Jews towards the believers.
Reference: (Surah Al-Ma'idah:82)
Disbelievers will never love or befriend Muslims.
Disbelievers hold intense anger and rage against Muslims.
[ہٰۤاَنۡتُمۡ اُولَآءِ تُحِبُّوۡنَہُمۡ وَ لَا یُحِبُّوۡنَکُمۡ وَ تُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِالۡکِتٰبِ کُلِّہٖ ۚ وَ اِذَا لَقُوۡکُمۡ قَالُوۡۤا اٰمَنَّا ۚ٭ۖ وَ اِذَا خَلَوۡا عَضُّوۡا عَلَیۡکُمُ الۡاَنَامِلَ مِنَ الۡغَیۡظِ ؕ قُلۡ مُوۡتُوۡا بِغَیۡظِکُمۡ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ عَلِیۡمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوۡرِ]
(O Muslims!) You love them (non-Muslims) but they do not love you, even though you believe in all (divine) scriptures. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe in (your Messenger and your Book)," but when they are apart from you, they bite their fingers in anger. Say, "Perish in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what is in the breasts."
Reference: (Surah Al-Imran:119)
When Muslims benefit in any matter, the disbelievers feel bad; if they suffer loss, the disbelievers are pleased.
[اِنۡ تَمۡسَسۡکُمۡ حَسَنَۃٌ تَسُؤۡہُمۡ ۫ وَ اِنۡ تُصِبۡکُمۡ سَیِّئَۃٌ یَّفۡرَحُوۡا بِہَا ؕ وَ اِنۡ تَصۡبِرُوۡا وَ تَتَّقُوۡا لَا یَضُرُّکُمۡ کَیۡدُہُمۡ شَیۡـًٔا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ بِمَا یَعۡمَلُوۡنَ مُحِیۡطٌ]
If you receive any good, it displeases them, and if a misfortune befalls you, they rejoice at it. But if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you at all. Allah encompasses what they do.
Reference: (Surah Al-Imran:120)
The hidden enmity of the disbelievers in their hearts against the Muslims is far greater than the enmity they express with their tongues.
Disbelievers leave no stone unturned in annihilating Muslims.
[یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَتَّخِذُوۡا بِطَانَۃً مِّنۡ دُوۡنِکُمۡ لَا یَاۡلُوۡنَکُمۡ خَبَالًا ؕ وَدُّوۡا مَا عَنِتُّمۡ ۚ قَدۡ بَدَتِ الۡبَغۡضَآءُ مِنۡ اَفۡوَاہِہِمۡ ۚۖ وَ مَا تُخۡفِیۡ صُدُوۡرُہُمۡ اَکۡبَرُ ؕ قَدۡ بَیَّنَّا لَکُمُ الۡاٰیٰتِ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ]
O you who have believed! Do not take anyone other than your fellow believers as allies, for they will not spare any effort to destroy you. They delight in what causes you harm; their hatred is evident from their tongues, and what is concealed in their hearts is far greater. We have made clear to you the signs, if you are wise.
Reference: (Surah Al-Imran:118)
Disbelievers want to remove Muslims from Islam and lead them to irreligion and misguidance.
[وَدَّتۡ طَّآئِفَۃٌ مِّنۡ اَہۡلِ الۡکِتٰبِ لَوۡ یُضِلُّوۡنَکُمۡ ؕ وَ مَا یُضِلُّوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡفُسَہُمۡ وَ مَا یَشۡعُرُوۡنَ]
Among the People of the Book is a group who wish to mislead you from the right path, while they themselves are not misled except that they are unaware of it.
Reference: (Surah Al-Imran:69)
Disbelievers want Muslims to become proponents of moderate Islam.
[فَلَا تُطِعِ الۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ]،[وَدُّوۡا لَوۡ تُدۡہِنُ فَیُدۡہِنُوۡنَ]
O Prophet! Do not obey the disbelievers, the ones who wish that if you become lax, they too become lax.
Reference: (Surah Al-Qalam:8-9)
As long as Muslims do not abandon their religion, disbelievers will continue to be hostile towards Muslims.
[وَ لَنۡ تَرۡضٰی عَنۡکَ الۡیَہُوۡدُ وَ لَا النَّصٰرٰی حَتّٰی تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَہُمۡ ؕ]
The Jews and Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their way.
Reference: (Surah Al-Baqarah:120)
Disbelievers want to harm Muslims in every possible way, verbally and physically.
[اِنۡ یَّثۡقَفُوۡکُمۡ یَکُوۡنُوۡا لَکُمۡ اَعۡدَآءً وَّ یَبۡسُطُوۡۤا اِلَیۡکُمۡ اَیۡدِیَہُمۡ وَ اَلۡسِنَتَہُمۡ بِالسُّوۡٓءِ وَ وَدُّوۡا لَوۡ تَکۡفُرُوۡنَ ؕ]
(The behavior of the disbelievers towards you is that) if they gain control over you, they will show enmity towards you, harm you with their hands and tongues; they wish that (due to their harm) you also become disbelievers.
Reference: (Surah Al-Mumtahina:2)
Disbelievers want to erase Islam from existence.
[یُرِیۡدُوۡنَ لِیُطۡفِـُٔوۡا نُوۡرَ اللّٰہِ بِاَفۡوَاہِہِمۡ وَ اللّٰہُ مُتِمُّ نُوۡرِہٖ وَ لَوۡ کَرِہَ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ]
Disbelievers want to extinguish the light of Allah with their breath, but Allah will spread His light, no matter how much the disbelievers dislike it.
Reference: (Surah As-Saff:8)
The dominance of Islam is deeply unpleasant to the polytheists.
[ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی وَ دِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ ۙ وَ لَوۡ کَرِہَ الۡمُشۡرِکُوۡنَ]
It is Allah who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to prevail over all religions, no matter how much the polytheists dislike it.
Reference: (Surah At-Tawbah:33)
Disbelievers want that no good should come to the Muslims from Allah Almighty.
[مَا یَوَدُّ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ اَہۡلِ الۡکِتٰبِ وَ لَا الۡمُشۡرِکِیۡنَ اَنۡ یُّنَزَّلَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ مِّنۡ خَیۡرٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّکُمۡ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ یَخۡتَصُّ بِرَحۡمَتِہٖ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ ذُو الۡفَضۡلِ الۡعَظِیۡمِ]
Whether they are disbelievers from among the People of the Book or polytheists, they do not like that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But Allah chooses for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
Reference: (Surah Al-Baqarah:105)
Disbelievers want Muslims to be negligent of their weapons so that they can suddenly attack and destroy the Muslims.
[وَدَّ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا لَوۡ تَغۡفُلُوۡنَ عَنۡ اَسۡلِحَتِکُمۡ وَ اَمۡتِعَتِکُمۡ فَیَمِیۡلُوۡنَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ مَّیۡلَۃً وَّاحِدَۃً ؕ]
Disbelievers want that as soon as you become negligent of your weapons and war equipment, they may suddenly attack you.
