This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal Nawaahi, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamaat o Mamnooat.
① Sayyida Aisha (RA) narrates, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
أعلنوا هذا النكاح واجعلوه فى المساجد واضربوا عليه بالدفوف
"Announce this marriage and do it in the mosques, and on this occasion (at the time of marriage) play the daf."
Reference: Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Nikah 1089. The narration is weak because its chain includes Isa bin Maymun who is weak. In a narration in Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Nikah 1895, the words "do it in the mosques" are not present. As far as the words "announce the marriage" are concerned, the muallaq narration is acceptable.
② Muhammad bin Hatib Jamhi (RA) narrates, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
فصل ما بين الحلال والحرام الدف والصوت فى النكاح
"The difference between what is halal and haram is playing the daf and raising the voice at the time of marriage."
Reference: Nasa'i, Kitab al-Nikah 3369. Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Nikah 1088. The narration is hasan.
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
من كانت له امرأتان فلم يعدل بينهما جاء يوم القيامة وشقه ساقط
"Whoever has two wives and does not act justly between them will come on the Day of Resurrection with one side of his body fallen."
Reference: Abu Dawood, Book of Marriage 2133. Tirmidhi, Book of Marriage 1141, the narration is authentic.
② It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
من كانت له امرأتان فمال إلى إحداهما جاء يوم القيامة وشقه مائل
"Whoever has two wives and inclines towards one of them will come on the Day of Resurrection with one side of his body crooked."
Reference: Abu Dawood 2133. The narration is authentic.
① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
استوصوا بالنساء خيرا فإن المرأة خلقت من ضلع أعوج وإن أعوج ما فى الضلع أعلاه فإن ذهبت تقيمه كسرته وإن تركته لم يزل أعوج فاستوصوا بالنساء خيرا
"Treat women well, for woman was created from a crooked rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is its upper part. If you try to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked. So treat women well."

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saw a yellow mark on Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf رضي الله عنه and said:
ما هذا؟
"What is this?"
He said: O Messenger of Allah! I have married a woman in exchange for a gold ring weighing a date stone. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
بارك الله لك أولم ولو بشاة
"May Allah bless you, hold a walimah even if it is with one goat."

② Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه reports that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
طعام الوليمة أول يوم حق ، والثاني سنة ، وطعام يوم الثالث سمعة ، من سمع سمع الله به
"The food of the walimah on the first day is a right, on the second day it is a Sunnah, and on the third day the food is ostentation and showing off. Whoever acts to show off and display, Allah will show him off to the people."
