Question:
If someone has two wives, what is the way to maintain justice and fairness among them?
Answer:
If there are multiple marriages, then justice must be maintained among all wives in terms of sustenance and residence, and equality is also required in spending the night. In this regard, injustice is a sin.
❀ Ummul Mu'mineen Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates:
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had allocated one day and night for each wife, however, Sayyida Sawda bint Zam'a (may Allah be pleased with her) gifted her turn to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) to please the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)."
