If a woman becomes pure from menstruation immediately after the Fajr call to prayer, will she have to fast?

This excerpt is taken from the book of Fazilat al-Sheikh Mubashir Ahmed Rabbani, may Allah have mercy on him, Ahkam and Masail of Ramadan.

What should a menstruating woman do?

Question:.

If a woman becomes pure from menstruation immediately after the Fajr call to prayer, can she stop eating and drinking at that moment and fast for that day, or is she required to make up the fast for that day?

Fatwa:.

If her bleeding stops at the time of dawn or just before it, then her fast will be valid for that day, and the obligation will be fulfilled even if she takes a bath after morning. However, if her bleeding stops after morning, then in this case, stopping her eating and drinking will not count as a fast, and she will have to make it up as a missed fast after the end of Ramadan.
