Question:
How can there be any interaction with the jinn?
Answer:
The jinn are a community from the unseen realm.
Allah Almighty has said:
"Indeed, he (Shaytan) sees you—he and his tribe—from where you do not see them."
[Al-A‘raf: 27]
Knowledge of them is only possible through revelation, i.e., through the Book and the Sunnah. Anyone who speaks of the jinn beyond what is established in the Qur’an and Sunnah is merely speculating and inventing falsehood against Allah and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
Allah the Exalted says:
"He (alone) is the Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His unseen to anyone, except to a Messenger whom He has chosen. Then He places before and behind him observers."
[Al-Jinn: 26–27]
There are more than forty verses in the Qur’an that discuss the nation of the jinn. Surah Al-Jinn provides numerous insights into this community, through which we can understand how interaction with the jinn is addressed.
