This excerpt is taken from the Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi by Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
بادروا بالأعمال سبعا : هل تنتظرون إلا فقرا منسيا ، أو غنى مطغيا ، أو مرضا مفسدا ، أو هرما مفندا ، أو موتا مجهزا ، أو الدجال فشر غائب ينتظر ، أو الساعة فالساعة أدهى وأمر
"Before the seven signs of the Day of Judgment appear, hasten in good deeds. Are you waiting for poverty that occupies you, or rebellious youth, or a corrupt disease, or old age that makes you mentally weak, or sudden death, or the Dajjal? Are you waiting for evil or the Day of Judgment, while the Day of Judgment is very severe and very bitter."

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas رضي الله عنهما that he asked: O Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! What is the best thing to give up (emigrate from)? The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
أن تهجر ما كره ربك
"That you give up the things disliked by your Lord."

② Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas رضي الله عنهما narrates from the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, who said:
المسلم من سلم المسلمون من لسانه ويده ، والمهاجر من هجر ما نهي عنه
"A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe, and a Muhajir (emigrant) is one who refrains from what he has been forbidden."

① Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
من نزلت به فاقة فأنزلها بالناس لم تسد فاقته ، و من نزلت به فاقة فأنزلها بالله أوشك الله له بالغنى إما بموت عاجل أو غنى عاجل
"Whoever is in dire need of something and presents it to people, they cannot fulfill his need, but whoever is in dire need of something and presents it to Allah, it is near that Allah will make him self-sufficient, either by hastening death or by granting wealth quickly."
