لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا (البقرة: ٢٨٦)
"Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity."
And the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ states:
«يسروا ولا تعسيروا»
"Make things easy and do not make them difficult."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Knowledge, Hadith: 69)
"Is there any concession for me to perform Tayammum?"
They replied:
"We find no excuse for you while you have access to water."
So he performed Ghusl and passed away.
When they returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, he said:
"They killed him. May Allah destroy them! Why did they not ask if they were unaware? The cure for ignorance is to ask. It would have been sufficient for him to perform Tayammum and wrap a bandage over his wound, then wipe over it and wash the rest of his body."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Book of Purification, Hadith: 336; Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 572; Musnad Ahmad: 1/330; Mustadrak al-Hakim: 1/178)
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله عنه) said regarding a wounded individual:
"He should wash around the injured area in Ghusl and Wudu, and wipe over the wound."
(As-Sunan al-Kubra by Al-Bayhaqi: 1/228, Hadith: 1079)
As the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed a Mustahadah woman:
"Perform Wudu for every prayer."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Book of Purification, Hadith: 292)

✿ Benefit
From this noble verse and hadith, a legal maxim is derived that all actions in Islam are based on gentleness and ease.◈ Purification for the Wounded and Sick:
It is permissible for a sick person to perform Tayammum if the use of water is harmful to them. Sayyiduna Jabir (رضي الله عنه) narrated that while on a journey, one of their companions was struck by a stone and sustained a head injury. Later, he had a wet dream. He asked his companions:"Is there any concession for me to perform Tayammum?"

◈ When Does the Wudu of a Sick Person Break?
In the case of a Mustahadah woman, or a person with leukorrhea, urinary incontinence, or flatulence, they may pray one Salah with a single Wudu. The discharge of blood, urine droplets, or gas during Salah will not invalidate the Wudu or the Salah. As the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed a Mustahadah woman:
"Perform Wudu for every prayer."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Book of Purification, Hadith: 292)
