This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mosuli's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal Nawaahi, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamaat o Mamnooat.

Book of Purity

Instructions Regarding Circumcision

① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
اختتن إبراهيم بقدوم
"Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was circumcised with a knife."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of the Prophets' Hadiths, 3356. Muslim, 2370.

② Sayyiduna Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed away, what was his age? He replied:
"By that time, my circumcision had been done, and it was like the circumcision of a person who has reached puberty."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Seeking Permission, 6299.

Importance of Miswak

① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates from the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, who said:
لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة
"If I did not consider it a hardship for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at every prayer time."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Friday Prayer, 887. Muslim, Book of Purification, 42/252.

② Sayyiduna Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه states that when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would get up for Tahajjud, he would clean his mouth with the miswak.
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Friday Prayer, 1136. Muslim, Book of Purification, 255.

③ Sayyidah Aisha رضي الله عنها narrates that the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم used to use the miswak before performing wudu when going to sleep or waking up during the day or night.
Reference: Abu Dawood, Book of Purification, 57. The narration is weak because its chain includes Ali bin Zaid who is weak and Umm Muhammad who is unknown.

④ Sayyidah Aisha رضي الله عنها also states that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would give her the miswak so that she could wash it; first, she would use the miswak, then wash it, and then present it to him.
Reference: Abu Dawood, Book of Purification, 52. The narration is Hasan.

Instructions Regarding Cleanliness

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ib رضي الله عنه that he heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say:
إن الله طيب يحب الطيب، نظيف يحب النظافة، كريم يحب الكرم، جواد يحب الجود، فنظفوا أراه قال أفنيتكم، ولا تشبهوا باليهود
"Indeed, Allah is pure and loves purity. He is clean and loves cleanliness. He is generous and loves generosity. He is noble and loves nobility. Keep your courtyard clean and do not resemble the Jews."
Reference: Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Adab, 4884. Musnad Ahmad, First Musnad of the Madanis, 39/4, Hadith 6374.

Instructions to Remove the Ring When Entering the Toilet

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه that when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم went to the toilet, he would remove his ring.
Reference: Tirmidhi, 1746. Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Taharah, 19. Imam Abu Dawood رحمه الله said: This hadith is weak.
