❓ Question:​


Kindly inform us about the actions from which one must refrain during Iʿtikāf.


❌ Prohibited Acts During Iʿtikāf:


Engaging in marital relations (sexual intercourse)


“And do not approach your wives while you are in Iʿtikāf in the mosques.”
[Al-Baqarah: 187]

Leaving the mosque to visit the sick
➤ Even for virtuous reasons like visiting the ill, it is not allowed during Iʿtikāf.


Participating in funeral processions
➤ Attending a janāzah (funeral) during Iʿtikāf is prohibited.



Exiting the place of Iʿtikāf without a genuine need
➤ One may leave only for essential needs such as using the restroom or performing obligatory ghusl.
