"Zuhri says that Saeed bin Musayyib informed me that Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه said: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say: 'The example of one who strives in the way of Allah, the Mujahid, and indeed Allah alone knows best who truly strives in His way, is like the person who prays consistently at night and fasts consistently during the day. And Allah has taken a responsibility upon Himself for the one who strives in His way that He will grant him martyrdom and admit him to Paradise without reckoning, or He will return him safely home with rewards and spoils of war.'"

Derived Benefits
➊ That is, only Allah Almighty truly knows the state of one's intention, whether he is sincere or not. If he is sincere, then he is a Mujahid; otherwise, one who fights for worldly wealth, status, and fame is not a Mujahid fi Sabilillah. The example given in the above Hadith regarding prayer and fasting refers to voluntary prayers and voluntary fasts, meaning a person who fasts all day and prays voluntary prayers all night; the rank of a Mujahid is even higher than this.
➋ Evidence of giving an example to explain the issue: From the above Hadith, evidence is found that an example is given to clarify the issue, as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave the example of a Mujahid fi Sabilillah as one who fasts all day and prays voluntary prayers all night.
➌ Guarantee from Allah Almighty for the Mujahid fi Sabilillah: Allah Almighty has guaranteed for the Mujahid fi Sabilillah that if he dies as a martyr in the way of Allah, Allah will admit him to Paradise, and if he returns alive and safe to his home, he will return with reward and recompense. The purpose is that for the Mujahid fi Sabilillah, both dying and living in the way of Allah are successes.
