❖ Narration:
It is narrated from Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah (RA) that:
Fever approached the Prophet ﷺ and requested: “Send me to your most beloved companions.”
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
“Go to the Ansār.”
So, the fever settled among the Ansār, and they became debilitated by it.
They complained to the Prophet ﷺ:
“Fever has overwhelmed us; please supplicate for us.”
The Prophet ﷺ made duʿāʾ, and the fever subsided.
✦ Ḥadīth Authentication:
➤ Status: Severely Weak (سخت ضعیف)
- This narration is reported by al-Bayhaqī in Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwah (6/160).
- The narrator Muḥammad ibn Yūnus al-Kudaymī is abandoned (matrūk) and accused of fabricating (muttaḥam bi’l-waḍʿ) ḥadīths.
Due to the presence of this unreliable narrator, the narration cannot be accepted and is considered extremely weak.

Although the content may appear emotionally appealing, the fabrication or severe weakness of the chain makes this narration unreliable in Islamic scholarship. It should not be quoted as an authentic saying or event from the life of the Prophet ﷺ.
