❖ The Rationalist Rejection of Revelation
In the 18th century, atheist philosophers boldly rejected religion with the claim that they would base truth, meaning, values, justice, knowledge, and beauty solely on human reason, not revelation. They asserted that through pure logic and rational inquiry, they would define these concepts in such a way that no reasonable human could deny them, as they would rest on objective facts, not speculative beliefs.
❖ The Outcome of Two Centuries of Philosophy
But what came of these grand declarations? After two hundred years of rigorous philosophical effort, the conclusion emerged:
“Man, through his universal reason, cannot truly know truth, meaning, values, justice, knowledge, or beauty.”
❖ The Logical Next Step: Humility Before the Creator
At this point, the rational course of action should have been humility before the Creator.Man, who had rebelled against his Lord and tried to make himself a god, should have acknowledged his intellectual insufficiency and bowed in submission to the One who created him.
❖ A Rebellious Turn Instead of Reflection
Strangely, this complete failure, which should have been a wake-up call, only deepened the philosopher’s rebellion.Instead of recognizing this collapse as a divine sign, he chose to escalate his arrogance,
and began to claim that truth, meaning, value, justice, knowledge, and beauty are not real at all—
that they are merely subjective, relative, and meaningless constructs.
Today, he masks this retreat as an ongoing "search",
when in reality, it is nothing more than a confession of defeat, wrapped in defiance.
❖ A Final Reminder
Let this be remembered:☛ Death is inevitable, and
☛ The moment of standing before your Lord is near.
Yet the door of repentance remains open,
for your Lord is Most Merciful to those who return to Him.
