Multiple Acts of Intercourse in a Single Day While Fasting: Number of Expiations

If a fasting person engages in intercourse with his wife multiple times in a single day, how many expiations (kaffarah) will be obligatory upon him?
If a fasting person has intercourse with his wife several times in one day, only one expiation (kaffarah) will be obligatory upon him.
❀ Hafiz Ibn Abd al-Barr رحمه الله (463H) stated:
أجمعوا على أن ليس على من وطيء مرارا فى يوم واحد إلا كفارة واحدة .
"There is consensus among the scholars that whoever engages in intercourse multiple times in a single day, only one expiation will be obligatory upon him."
