"The one who yawns should place his hand over his mouth."

✿ Allah Likes Sneezing and Dislikes Yawning

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Indeed, Allah loves sneezing and dislikes yawning. So when any one of you sneezes and praises Allah (says 'Alhamdulillah'), it becomes a duty upon every Muslim who hears him to say to him: ‘يرحمك الله’ (May Allah have mercy on you). As for yawning, it is from Shayṭān. So when one of you yawns, he should try to suppress it as much as possible, for when any one of you yawns, Shayṭān laughs at him.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ: Reported by al-Bukhārī 6226]

Yawning Is from Shayṭān and Should Be Suppressed

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه):
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Yawning is from Shayṭān, so if any of you feels the need to yawn, he should suppress it as much as he can.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ: Reported by Muslim 2994]

✿ Place Your Hand Over Your Mouth While Yawning

Narrated by Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه):
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“When one of you yawns, he should place his hand over his mouth, for Shayṭān enters.”
In another narration:
“If one of you yawns during prayer, he should suppress it as much as he can, for Shayṭān enters.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ: Reported by Muslim 2995:57 in the first wording, and 2995:59 in the second wording]
