Instructions Regarding Writing the Hadiths of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As رضي الله عنهما narrates: Whatever I heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, I used to write it down with the intention of memorizing it, but the Quraysh stopped me. They said: You write down everything while the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم is also a human being; he speaks in anger and pleasure.
He narrates that I stopped writing until I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, and he pointed to his mouth with his finger and said:
اكتب فوالذي نفسي بيده ما يخرج منه إلا حق
"Write! By the One in Whose hand is my soul! Only the truth comes from here."

② It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Noble Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم addressed and mentioned a story, then Abu Shah رضي الله عنه said: O Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! Let me write it down. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
اكتبوا لأبي شاه
"Write for Abu Shah."
