Does wudūʾ break due to smoking or if one’s trousers (shalwār) are below the ankles?
Alhamdulillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh. Ammā baʿd!
I do not have absolute knowledge regarding this, however, there is a narration which states:
✿ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed a man, who was praying with his garment hanging below his ankles, to repeat both his prayer and his wudūʾ.
(This narration is found in Musnad Aḥmad and also cited in Mishkāt al-Maṣābīḥ.)
