Is it true that if someone recites Sūrah al-Fatḥ and Durūd Sharīf frequently, he will be blessed with a vision of the Prophet ﷺ? Please clarify based on authentic ḥadīths.
There is no evidence from the Qur'an or any authentic ḥadīth that confirms the claim that reciting Sūrah al-Fatḥ and sending blessings (Durūd) upon the Prophet ﷺ in abundance guarantees a vision of the Prophet ﷺ, either in a dream or otherwise.
This specific prescription (nuskha) is not established from the Prophet ﷺ or his noble Companions.
However, it is among the possible occurrences that a person of piety and righteousness (taqwā) may be granted the honor of seeing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a dream.
Many Imāms of ḥadīth have mentioned that they were blessed with dreams in which they saw the Prophet ﷺ.
Such dreams are known to occur to truthful, sincere, and devout Muslims, by the will of Allah.
One should supplicate to Allah sincerely, asking:
❖ To become a righteous and practicing Muslim,
❖ To be honored with the vision of the Prophet ﷺ,
❖ To be blessed to drink from Ḥawḍ al-Kawthar at his blessed hands,
❖ And to benefit from his intercession (shafāʿah) on the Day of Judgment.
Āmīn.
❖ There is no authentic report that reciting Sūrah al-Fatḥ and Durūd in abundance leads to a guaranteed vision of the Prophet ﷺ.
❖ Such visions may occur to pious and sincere believers, but not by any guaranteed formula.
❖ Rather, one should focus on sincerity, righteousness, and consistent obedience to Allah.
❖ Make duʿā’ humbly for such an immense honor from Allah.
