Question:
Does drinking a little milk establish breastfeeding?
Answer:
The prohibition of breastfeeding is established only when the child has consumed enough milk to fill his stomach at least five times during the breastfeeding period; drinking less than this does not establish prohibition.
❀ Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates:
"The Prophet (peace be upon him) came to me while a man was sitting with me. He asked: Who is this? I replied: This is my breastfeeding brother. He said: Recognize who your brothers are, breastfeeding is established when milk is the child's only food."
