❖ Question

The supplication of Witr is established in Hadith through both methods — before Rukuʿ and after Rukuʿ. Is there any difference between the Duʿāʾ of Witr and Qunoot Nāzilah?

❖ Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā Baʿd!

Qunoot Nāzilah was performed by the Prophet ﷺ in obligatory prayers after Rukuʿ.

Some scholars are of the opinion that reciting Qunoot Nāzilah in Witr is permissible — meaning, according to them, it is allowed to recite Qunoot Nāzilah in Witr prayer.
