Did the Jinn Come to the Prophet ﷺ to Listen to the Qur'an?
Answer:

Yes, they did!

Allah ﷻ says:

“And [mention, O Prophet] when We directed to you a group of jinn, listening to the Qur’an. And when they attended it, they said, ‘Be silent!’ Then when it was concluded, they returned to their people as warners.”

[Surah al-Aḥqāf: 29]

Imam Aḥmad رحمه الله narrates from Sayyiduna Zubayr رضي الله عنه that a group of jinn had gathered at the place of Nakhlah while the Prophet ﷺ was leading the ʿIshā’ prayer.

Allah ﷻ also says:

“They were about to crowd upon him layer upon layer.”

[Surah al-Jinn: 19]

Imam Sufyān رحمه الله, in explaining the word “لِبَدًا,” stated that it refers to them piling upon one another to hear the Qur'an. This illustrates the eagerness and intensity with which the jinn gathered to listen to the revelation.
