Did Ja'd bin Dirham offer sacrifice on behalf of Khalid al-Qasri?

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Zubair Ali Zai Rahimahullah's book "Qurbani ke Ahkam o Masail" (Rules and Issues of Sacrifice).

Did Ja'd bin Durrahm slaughter the sacrificial animal on behalf of Khalid al-Qasri?

❀ Kausari wrote in his reprimand about Khalid bin Abdullah al-Qasri:
و القسري هذا هو الذى بنى كنيسة لأمه تتعبد فيها وهو الذى يقال عنه أنه ذبح الجعد بن درهم يوم عيد الأضحى أضحية عنه والخبر على انتشاره وذيوعه غير ثابت
Reference: (p. 62)

While translating this, Abdul Quddus wrote: And this al-Qasri is the one who built a church for his mother in which she used to worship. And this is the same person about whom it is said that on the day of Eid al-Adha, al-Ja'd bin Durrahm slaughtered a sacrificial animal on his behalf. And this incident, despite being famous and widespread, is not proven.
Reference: (Abu Hanifa's Just Defense p. 178)

Abdul Quddus's statement that on the day of Eid al-Adha, al-Ja'd bin Durrahm slaughtered a sacrificial animal on behalf of Khalid al-Qasri is a very strange and rare discovery. Whereas the original text and its correct translation are as follows:
أنه ذبح الجعد بن درهم يوم عيد الأضحى أضحية عنه
Indeed, he slaughtered al-Ja'd bin Durrahm on his own behalf on the day of Eid al-Adha (as a sacrifice).
According to Kausari, the famous but unproven incident is that Khalid al-Qasri slaughtered al-Ja'd bin Durrahm (the misguided and misleader and denier of the attributes of Allah) as a sacrifice on the day of Eid al-Adha on his own behalf. Whereas Abdul Quddus is singing a different tune: that al-Ja'd bin Durrahm slaughtered a sacrificial animal on his behalf. Glory be to Allah!

wrote:
He said on the day of Adha:
ضحوا تقبل الله منكم فإني مضح بالجعد بن درهم، زعم أن الله لم يتخذ إبراهيم خليلا، إلخ.
(O people) perform sacrifices, may Allah accept your sacrifices, I am the one who will sacrifice al-Ja'd bin Durrahm because he says that Allah did not make Ibrahim (peace be upon him) a Khalil (close friend).
Reference: (Siyar A'lam al-Nubala 432/5)

Whether this famous story is proven or not, Kausari's text does not at all say that al-Ja'd bin Durrahm slaughtered any sacrifice on behalf of Khalid. If Abdul Quddus the comparer did not know Arabic, he could have referred to Mizan al-I'tidal
Reference: (vol. 1 p. 399, no. 1382)
in which it is written: فقتل على ذلك بالعراق يوم النحر, so he (al-Ja'd bin Durrahm) was killed in Iraq on the day of sacrifice because of this (wrong belief). اليس منكم رجل رشيد؟

Warning:

It is not proven that Khalid al-Qasri built a church for his mother.
