Denial of Distorted Heavenly Books

Written by: Maulana Abul Hasan Mubashir Ahmad Rabbani (may Allah preserve him)

Question:
As the Quran has indicated that the earlier heavenly books have been altered, if one denies these distorted books, does that mean the person is no longer a Muslim?

Answer:
The Torah is a book revealed by Allah, and similarly, the Gospel (Injil) is also a divine scripture. It is obligatory to believe that Allah revealed the Torah to Musa (peace be upon him) and the Gospel to Isa (peace be upon him). However, the current Bible that exists is distorted. It is not the heavenly book that one is commanded to believe in, and denying this Bible is completely correct. For a detailed discussion on its distortion, please refer to the book “Izhar al-Haq” by Maulana Rahmatullah Kairanwi (may Allah have mercy on him). You may also listen to the recordings of Ahmad Deedat’s debates with Christian clergy. And Allah knows best.
