Is it permissible to make duʿāʾ collectively with raised hands after obligatory prayers, if it is done occasionally and not habitually?
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʿammā baʿd!
Making duʿāʾ collectively with raised hands after obligatory or voluntary prayers — whether done habitually (bi-dawām) or occasionally (bilā dawām) — is not established from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.
In fact, no authentic ḥadīth has been found proving that the Prophet ﷺ even raised his hands for duʿāʾ individually after prayer.
Therefore, collective duʿāʾ after ṣalāh, whether occasional or regular, is not from the Sunnah, and there is no valid evidence to support it.
