Is it permissible to wear a silver ring?
If it is allowed, should it be worn on the right hand or the left hand?
There is no harm for both men and women in wearing a silver ring. It may be worn on either the right or left hand. However, it is preferable to wear it on the right hand, as the right side is generally more virtuous and favored over the left in Islamic teachings.
Men are not permitted to wear:
✘ Gold rings
✘ Gold watches
✘ Or any other gold adornments
These are exclusively permitted for women.
Multiple authentic aḥādīth from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ clearly indicate that:
✔ Gold and silk are forbidden for men
✔ Permissible for women
✔ Wearing a silver ring is permissible for both genders.
✔ It may be worn on either hand, though the right is more virtuous.
✘ Gold jewelry, including rings and watches, is strictly prohibited for men, and allowed only for women.
