❀ Ruling on Men Using Hair Removal Creams Typically Used by Women ❀

Can a man use hair removal products that are typically labeled for women (e.g., “bāl ṣafā”)?
I read in some books that the Sahabah (رضي الله عنهم) used something called nūrah for hair removal.
What is nūrah, and what is the ruling on this matter?
This question was asked by a friend.
Alḥamdulillāh, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
✔ It is permissible for both men and women to use bāl ṣafā (hair removal cream), regardless of whether it is commonly marketed for women.
There is no Shar‘i prohibition against men using such creams as long as the purpose is lawful (i.e., removing unwanted body hair).
✦ As for nūrah, it was a traditional depilatory agent used by the Sahabah (رضي الله عنهم), made from natural ingredients like lime or minerals, to remove hair without shaving.
✔ Although the use of nūrah is established from the Salaf, the preferred method remains using metal tools (like a razor) when possible, as it is more effective and aligns with the general practice.
هَذَا مَا عِنْدِي وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ
This is what I have, and Allah knows best what is correct.
