Hadith 12: Performing I'tikaf during the state of Istihada

It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed I'tikaf with him while she was seeing blood and yellow discharge, and a basin was kept under her while she was praying.

Answer:
The hadith is authentic, but the opponents of Islam have tried to deceive by mentioning only blood and yellow discharge to prove that it was a state of menstruation, whereas the hadith clearly states that the woman was in the state of Istihada. Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this hadith under the chapter of Istihada. Entering the mosque, performing I'tikaf, and praying during the state of Istihada is completely permissible. She kept the basin to prevent the mosque from becoming dirty.
