Borrowing Food and Drink Items

Question:
Is it permissible in Islam to borrow common food and drink items?

Answer:
Islamic Shariah permits borrowing such items.

A narration from Sayyidah Aisha (RA) states:
"The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) bought grain on credit from a Jew and gave his armor as collateral." (Sahih Bukhari, Book of Pledge, Hadith 2509)

This authentic hadith demonstrates that borrowing food and drink items is permissible in Islam.
