✿ Best Supplications for Deceased Parents ✿

Supplicating for one's deceased parents is a great act of virtue and serves as a form of ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah) for them. The Qur’an and Hadith contain numerous supplications that serve as a means for the elevation of their ranks, forgiveness, and attainment of divine mercy. Below are some of the best supplications from the Qur’an and Hadith.
① Supplication for Forgiveness
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
(Surah Nuh: 28)
❝ O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and all believing men and women. ❞
② Supplication for the Day of Reckoning
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
(Surah Ibrahim: 41)
❝ O our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established. ❞
③ Supplication for Mercy Upon Parents
وَقُلْ رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
(Surah Al-Isra: 24)
❝ And say: O my Lord! Have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small. ❞
④ Supplication for Forgiveness and Elevation of Ranks
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِوَالِدَيَّ وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَاتِهِمَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ، وَوَسِّعْ لَهُمَا فِي قُبُورِهِمَا، وَنَوِّرْ لَهُمَا فِيهَا
❝ O Allah! Forgive my parents, elevate their ranks in Paradise, expand their graves, and fill them with light. ❞
⑤ Supplication for Making Their Graves Gardens of Paradise
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ قُبُورَهُمَا رَوْضَةً مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا حُفْرَةً مِنْ حُفَرِ النَّارِ
❝ O Allah! Make their graves a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and do not make them a pit from the pits of the Fire. ❞
⑥ Supplication for a Better Abode and Salvation
اللَّهُمَّ أَبْدِلْهُمَا دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِمَا، وَأَهْلًا خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِمَا، وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِمَا، وَأَدْخِلْهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَنَجِّهِمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ
❝ O Allah! Replace their home with a better one, their family with a better one, and their spouse with a better one. Admit them into Paradise and save them from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. ❞
⑦ Supplication for All Muslims
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِوَالِدَيَّ وَجَمِيعِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، الأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالأَمْوَاتِ
❝ O Allah! Forgive my parents and all Muslim men and women, the living among them and the deceased. ❞
⑧ Supplication for the Shade of the Throne
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُمَا فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِكَ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّكَ
❝ O Allah! Place them in the shade of Your Throne on the Day when there will be no shade but Yours. ❞
⑨ Supplication for Reunion in Jannat al-Firdaws
اللَّهُمَّ اجْمَعْنِي بِوَالِدَيَّ فِي جَنَّةِ الْفِرْدَوْسِ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
❝ O Allah! Reunite me with my parents in Jannat al-Firdaws without reckoning. ❞
⑩ Supplication for Inclusion Among the People of Paradise
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُمَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَفُكَّ عَنْهُمَا كُلَّ عَذَابٍ
❝ O Allah! Make them among the people of Paradise and free them from every punishment. ❞
