Believing Jinn Will Enter Paradise Like Believing Humans

✦ Entry of Believing Jinn into Paradise and Punishment for Disobedient Jinn ✦
Compiled by: Dr. Raza Abdullah Pasha ḥafiẓahullāh

❖ Question:

Will believing jinn enter Paradise just as disobedient jinn are cast into Hell?

❖ Answer:

Yes, believing jinn will enter Paradise, just as disobedient jinn will be punished in the Fire.

❖ Qur’anic Evidence

Allah ﷻ says:

فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌۭ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ
"Therein are maidens with restrained glances, whom no human or jinn has touched before them."
[Surah Ar-Rahman: 56]

This verse implies that both humans and jinn will enter Paradise, as it mentions that jinn will also partake in the pleasures of Paradise, and thus must be among its dwellers.

❖ Statements of the Scholars

Imam Ibn Ḥazm رحمه الله stated:

“Believing jinn will enter Paradise.”

Imam Ibn Kathīr رحمه الله said:

“Believing jinn will enter Paradise just like believing humans, and this is also the stance of a group among the Salaf.”

❖ Divine Justice and Favor upon Jinn and Humans

Allah ﷻ refers to jinn and humans together as الثقلين (al-thaqalayn — the two weighty creations). He mentions His favors upon them, and thus their reward is Paradise if they believe and obey.

In Surah Ar-Rahman, the repeated verse:

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
“So which of the favors of your Lord will you both deny?”

The jinn responded with even more reverence and thankfulness than humans:

ولا بشيء من آلائك ربنا نكذب فلك الحمد
“O our Lord, we do not deny any of Your favors, and to You belongs all praise.”

Such profound gratitude from the jinn indicates their sincere acknowledgment of Allah’s blessings, and therefore, they are not excluded from the reward of Paradise.

❖ Conclusion

Allah ﷻ is far above giving a promise of reward to a creation who cannot attain it.
Therefore, just as disobedient jinn are punished in Hellfire, the believing jinn will be rewarded with Paradise — in accordance with divine justice and mercy.

✿ The gates of Paradise are open for all sincere believers—whether from humankind or jinnkind.
