All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon His trustworthy Messenger, his family, companions, and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
Respected Readers:
The specific wordings of the Eid Takbirat are not authentically reported from the Prophet ﷺ through any Sahih or Hasan chain, however, authentic and sound chains exist from several noble Companions Here are some examples supported by sound evidences.
He used to say:
Az-Zuhd war-Raqa’iq by Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak (d. 181 AH), Vol. 2, pp. 699–700, Hadith 878
→ Declared Mawqoof with a Sahih chain by researcher Ahmad Fareed
He used to say:
Fadl ‘Ashr Dhil-Hijjah by At-Tabarani, p. 50, Hadith 41
→ Chain graded Sahih by Dr. ‘Ammar bin Sa‘id Tamalat al-Jazairi
And also:
As-Sunan al-Kubra by al-Bayhaqi, Book of Eid Prayers, Chapter: How to say the Takbir, Vol. 3, p. 757, Hadith 6280
→ Graded Sahih by researcher Islam Mansur Abdul Hameed
He used to say:
Fadl ‘Ashr Dhil-Hijjah by At-Tabarani, pp. 52–53, Hadith 45
→ Chain authenticated by Dr. ‘Ammar bin Sa‘id Tamalat al-Jazairi
And his freed slave Nafi‘ narrated:
❝Ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنهما) used to go out early in the morning from the mosque toward the Eid prayer ground, and he would raise his voice in Takbir until he reached the musalla. He would continue the Takbir until the Imam arrived.❞
As-Sunan al-Kubra by al-Bayhaqi, Book of Eid Prayers, Chapter: Takbir on the Night and Day of Eid and While Going to the Eid Prayer, Vol. 3, p. 706, Hadith 6129
→ Graded Qawiy (strong) by the researcher
Based on the above, the following forms of loud Takbir during the days of Eid are authentically reported from the Companions:
①
(Complete version as narrated from Salman al-Farsi)
②
(from Ibn ‘Abbas)
③
(from Ibn ‘Abbas)
④
(from Ibn ‘Umar)
These forms may be recited loudly during the nights and days of Eid, especially while going to the prayer ground, as was the practice of the noble Companions.
