Acceptance of Repentance at the Time of Death

Question:
Is repentance accepted at the time of death (naẓʿ)?
Answer:
Allah ﷻ accepts every repentance made before the moment of naẓʿ (death agony). Once the actual time of death begins, the chance for repentance ends.

- Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī رحمه الله (806H) said:
أجمع العلماء على قبول توبة العبد ما لم يغرغر.
“The scholars are unanimous that the repentance of a servant is accepted so long as his soul has not reached the throat (ghargara).”
