(Protection and Treatment from Evil Eye, Magic, and Possession)
If it becomes clear or there is strong conviction that a particular person has cast the evil eye, then:
◈ He should be asked to perform wuḍū (ablution).
◈ The water that drips from his limbs while performing wuḍū should be collected.
◈ This water should then be poured over the patient and also given to drink.

❖ The person who cast the evil eye should:
◈ Dip his palms in a container of water.
◈ Rinse his mouth and spit this water back into the same container.
◈ Wash his face with this water.
◈ Wash his right foot with his left hand using this water, and his left foot with his right hand.

If either the one who cast the evil eye or the afflicted person refuses to perform wuḍū or ghusl, there is no need to worry.
✔ In such cases, any item that has touched the body of the one who cast the evil eye—like a cap, shirt, or trousers—should be:
◈ Washed with water,
◈ And this water should be either poured over the patient or given to drink.
This is a tried and tested remedy.

al-Qawl al-Mufīd by Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله, p. 66
✔ If all items that came into contact with the one who cast the evil eye are washed (including sweat and saliva), or utensils he used for eating and drinking are washed, or even the date pit he sucked is washed, and this water is either:
◈ Poured over the patient, or
◈ Given to drink,
Then by Allah’s permission, this will be among the most effective methods for healing.
Fatwā by Shaykh Ibn Jibreen dated 24 Shaʿbān 1418 AH
Important Note:
Cleaning doors, stairs, or entrances of homes or mosques by the patient to seek healing is baseless and has no basis in Islam.
Likewise, taking the waste or soil from where the evil-eyed person stepped is also not allowed.

Al-Fatāwā al-Dhahabiyyah, p. 121
If the identity of the one who cast the evil eye cannot be known:
✔ The afflicted person should turn to Allah in devotion.
✔ He should use Islamic ruqyah (spiritual healing) and authorized supplications.
Healing will occur by the will of Allah.
Narration from ʿĀ’ishah رضي الله عنها:
❝The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed me to recite ruqyah for curing the evil eye.❞

② Surah al-Falaq
③ Surah al-Nās
④ Surah al-Fātiḥah
⑤ Āyat al-Kursī
⑥ Last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah
◈ While reciting, place the right hand over the affected area.
✔ Recite the above-mentioned verses and supplications over olive oil and water.
✔ The water should be:
– Given to the patient to drink, and
– Used for bathing.
✔ The olive oil should be:
– Used for cooking, or
– Massaged onto the body.
If Zamzam water or rainwater is available, it is preferable for ruqyah.
✔ It is permissible to:
– Write Āyat al-Kursī, Surah al-Fātiḥah, the last verses of Surah al-Baqarah, the Muʿawwidhatayn, Surah al-Ikhlāṣ, or other verses,
– Then wash the writing with water,
– And give this water to the patient to drink.
✔ This method is also mentioned in the treatment of magic.
One must not visualize the person who supposedly caused the evil eye while performing ruqyah.
Nor should the name of that person be mentioned even if the ruqyah performer requests it.
This is a satanic act and strictly forbidden in Islam.
