Since Ghulam Ahmad Parwez linked the concepts of Jannah and Jahannam to this worldly life in his imagined philosophy, he also concluded that their preparation is the responsibility of human beings. He openly stated:
“This does not mean that it is something which God has separately prepared there on His own. The meaning is as explained earlier — that every person prepares their Jannah or Jahannam with every breath of life.”
(Lughat-ul-Qur’an, Vol. 3, p. 1129)
This stance is clearly against the explicit text of the Qur’an. According to the Qur’an, Jannah and Jahannam are not created or prepared by humans but by Allah ﷻ Himself. Several verses affirm this reality.
“Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the supreme success.”
“Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will dwell forever.”
“Allah is angry with them, curses them, and has prepared for them Hell — and what an evil destination it is.”
These creations are part of the unseen (ghayb) and beyond human capacity to construct. Their existence, preparation, and nature are entirely the work of Allah ﷻ.
The repeated phrase “A‘adda Allah” (Allah prepared) in multiple verses leaves no doubt that He alone is the Creator and preparer of Jannah and Jahannam. Any claim that humans themselves prepare these realms directly contradicts Qur’anic revelation.
The Qur’an explicitly states that only Allah ﷻ is the Creator and Preparer of both Jannah and Jahannam. Parwez’s claim that humans prepare their own Paradise or Hell is a clear deviation from Qur’anic truth and an attempt to elevate man to a position belonging solely to Allah ﷻ. This ideology is both a distortion of the Qur’an’s meaning and an act of intellectual arrogance.
Who is the Creator of Jannah and Jahannam?
Since Ghulam Ahmad Parwez linked the concepts of Jannah and Jahannam to this worldly life in his imagined philosophy, he also concluded that their preparation is the responsibility of human beings. He openly stated:
“This does not mean that it is something which God has separately prepared there on His own. The meaning is as explained earlier — that every person prepares their Jannah or Jahannam with every breath of life.”
(Lughat-ul-Qur’an, Vol. 3, p. 1129)
Parwez’s View Contradicts the Qur’an
This stance is clearly against the explicit text of the Qur’an. According to the Qur’an, Jannah and Jahannam are not created or prepared by humans but by Allah ﷻ Himself. Several verses affirm this reality.
1 – Allah Himself Prepared Jannah
“Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the supreme success.”
2 – Jannah Prepared for the Muhajirun and Ansar
“Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will dwell forever.”
3 – Allah Also Prepared Jahannam
“Allah is angry with them, curses them, and has prepared for them Hell — and what an evil destination it is.”
4 – Jannah and Jahannam Are Part of the Unseen
These creations are part of the unseen (ghayb) and beyond human capacity to construct. Their existence, preparation, and nature are entirely the work of Allah ﷻ.
5 – The Qur’an Attributes Creation Solely to Allah
The repeated phrase “A‘adda Allah” (Allah prepared) in multiple verses leaves no doubt that He alone is the Creator and preparer of Jannah and Jahannam. Any claim that humans themselves prepare these realms directly contradicts Qur’anic revelation.
Conclusion
The Qur’an explicitly states that only Allah ﷻ is the Creator and Preparer of both Jannah and Jahannam. Parwez’s claim that humans prepare their own Paradise or Hell is a clear deviation from Qur’anic truth and an attempt to elevate man to a position belonging solely to Allah ﷻ. This ideology is both a distortion of the Qur’an’s meaning and an act of intellectual arrogance.
