عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ...
Narrated by Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani (رضي الله عنه): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whenever a person performs Wudu with excellence and then offers two Rak‘ahs with full attention of heart and face, Paradise becomes obligatory for him.”
Reported by Abu Dawud.
Verification & References:
➋ Wudu is a prerequisite for Salah. Without performing Wudu properly, the humility and submission required in Salah are diminished.
➌ Wudu and Salah are inseparably linked. Unless both are performed with excellence and presence of mind, one cannot fully merit the glad tidings of entry into Paradise.
➍ There is an additional insight in this Hadith: One who understands the proper manner and sequence of Wudu is also capable of praying with complete devotion. It also indicates that even voluntary (Nafl) prayers can be a means to attain Paradise—not just the obligatory ones.
