وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ﴿10﴾
And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys what Allâh has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islâmic Monotheism or by following polytheism or by doing every kind of evil wicked deeds).
وَقَدْ waqad And indeed
خَابَ khāba he fails
مَن man who
دَسَّىٰهَا dassāhā buries it

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

10. And he will indeed fail who covers it [9] with dust.

[9] Verses 9 and 10 are the response to the oaths. That is, from the beginning of the Surah up to verse 8, all the oaths taken on mutually opposing things are sworn upon this reality: whoever has purified his soul from disbelief and polytheism, from corrupt beliefs, and from vile morals, he has succeeded. And whoever has buried the voice of his conscience—which keeps warning him about good and evil—into the dust, he has become unsuccessful. Just as the sun and the moon are different from each other, day and night are different and opposed, the earth and the sky are opposites, so too are wickedness and piety, or good and evil, opposites of each other. In the same way, the results of actions based on good and evil must certainly be different and opposed to each other; they can never be the same. The result of actions done on the basis of piety is success and salvation in the Hereafter, while the result of actions done on the basis of wickedness is failure and disappointment in the Hereafter.
