Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

102. Most of them We did not find true to their covenant; rather, We found most of them to be defiantly disobedient [107].

Not Fulfilling a Covenant is Fisq (Transgression):

By "covenant" is meant that natural covenant which is present in human nature, and this covenant is famous by the name of ﴿اَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ﴾, according to which every human being made a covenant that he would not take anyone other than his Lord as a deity; and also that covenant which a person makes with other people, whether it is related to transactions or to matters of marriage and divorce; and also that covenant which a person personally makes with his Lord. That is, whatever kind of covenant it may be, the one who breaks it is a fasiq (transgressor).
