Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
2. Did He not make their plan [2] go astray [3]?
[2] What Were Abraha's Objectives?
﴿كَيْدَ﴾ means a plan or secret scheme. Here, the question arises that he came to attack the Ka'bah openly in broad daylight and openly declared that he was coming to attack the Ka'bah, and the reason for this was that the Arabs had insulted their church. So what was his plan or secret scheme in this? The answer is that his secret scheme was that after destroying the Ka'bah, he would divert the attention of the Arabs towards his church. And his purpose in this was not to gain religious benefits, but rather he wanted to obtain all the commercial, economic, social, and political benefits that the Quraysh of Makkah enjoyed because of the Ka'bah. [3] Another meaning of ﴿تَضْلِيْلٍ﴾﴿ضَلّ﴾ is that the purpose for which something is done is not achieved, and the action proves to be completely fruitless and useless. For further explanation, see the footnote of Surah Ad-Duha, verse: ﴿وَوَجَدَكَضَالًّافَهَدٰي﴾.
