Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
That is what they could reach of knowledge. Verily, your Lord it is He Who knows best him who goes astray from His Path, and He knows best him who receives guidance.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 30) ➊ {ذٰلِكَمَبْلَغُهُمْمِّنَالْعِلْمِ: ’’مَبْلَغٌ‘‘ ’’بَلَغَيَبْلُغُ‘‘} is a ظرف, meaning a place of reaching. The word {’’ ذٰلِكَ ‘‘} is used for belittlement, that the reach and limit of these people’s knowledge is only to this insignificant worldly life, which is both little and unstable compared to the Hereafter. Beyond this, they have neither any knowledge nor are they ready to know or think beyond it. In a supplication narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), these words of his are mentioned: [ وَلاَتَجْعَلِالدُّنْيَاأَكْبَرَهَمِّنَاوَلاَمَبْلَغَعِلْمِنَا ][ ترمذي، الدعوات، باب دعاء { ”اللهم اقسم لنا…“ } : ۳۵۰۲، قال الألباني حسن ] “And do not make the world our greatest concern, nor the limit of our knowledge.” ➋ {اِنَّرَبَّكَهُوَاَعْلَمُبِمَنْضَلَّعَنْسَبِيْلِهٖ … :} From this, Allah’s perfect knowledge is established, that He knows all those who are astray from His path and also those who are established upon His path.
