سُوْرَةُ الصَّافَّاتِ
Surah As-Saaffaat (37) — Ayah 30
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ ﴿30﴾

"And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were Tâghûn (transgressing) people (polytheists, and disbelievers).

(Ayah 30) ➊ {وَ مَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنْ سُلْطٰنٍ :} This is the second answer: that we had no such dominance over you that would compel you to persist in disbelief. You were content and pleased with disbelief of your own accord.
➋ {بَلْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا طٰغِيْنَ :} This is the third answer: rather, your very nature was filled with excess and rebellion, so you abandoned the truth and followed us, and continued to oppose the prophets.
