سُوْرَةُ اٰلِ عِمْرٰنَ
Surah Aal-i-Imraan (3) — Ayah 8
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ ﴿8﴾

(They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower."

(Ayah 9,8) This is the supplication that those firmly grounded in knowledge continually make before Allah Almighty. Along with the prayer for steadfastness upon guidance, the certainty of being presented before Allah on the Day of Resurrection is always before their eyes. Their main effort and supplication are not for the world, but for the Hereafter. It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would often make this supplication: [ يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوْبِ ! ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِيْ عَلٰي دِيْنِكَ ] "O Turner of the hearts! Keep my heart firm upon Your religion." [ترمذی، الدعوات، باب دعاء یا مقلب القلوب ! … : ۳۵۲۲، وصححہ الألبانی ]
