Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 28) ➊ { اِذْهَبْ بِّكِتٰبِيْ هٰذَا … :} Solomon (peace be upon him) immediately began to investigate the news, so he wrote a letter and ordered the hoopoe to take my letter and cast it to them, then return and see what answer they give, that is, stay aside and listen to their conversations and keep pondering over them, then come and inform me. Here, a part of the narrative is omitted which is understood by itself, that the hoopoe took the letter and threw it to the Queen of Sheba. The queen was astonished by the manner in which the letter arrived and by its contents after reading it.
➋ From this, it is known that Solomon (peace be upon him) used the hoopoe not only for gathering general information but also for delivering letters.
