Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 26) {اَللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ …:} This is the third proof of monotheism: that He is the Lord of the Great Throne. He is the Owner of everything in the universe, but here only the Great Throne is mentioned. One reason is that the Divine Throne is the greatest and most superior thing in the universe. Another reason is to clarify that although the throne of the Queen of Sheba is very grand, it bears no comparison to the Great Throne, upon which Allah, in accordance with His majesty, is established. Here, the speech of the hoopoe ends. Some commentators have considered these two verses to be the words of Allah, which He said after the speech of the hoopoe to teach monotheism. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: [ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ نَهٰی عَنْ قَتْلِ أَرْبَعٍ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ : النَّمْلَةُ وَالنَّحْلَةُ وَالْهُدْهُدُ وَالصُّرَدُ ] [ أبوداوٗد، الأدب، باب في قتل الذر : ۵۲۶۷ ] "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the killing of four creatures: the ant, the honeybee, the hoopoe, and the shrike."
