Surah An-Najm (53) — Ayah 31

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ بِٱلْحُسْنَى ﴿31﴾
And to Allâh belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, that He may requite those who do evil with that which they have done (i.e. punish them in Hell), and reward those who do good, with what is best (i.e. Paradise).
وَلِلَّهِ walillahi And for Allah
مَا (is) whatever
فِى (is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens
وَمَا wamā and whatever
فِى (is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ l-arḍi the earth
لِيَجْزِىَ liyajziya that He may recompense
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ asāū do evil
بِمَا bimā with what
عَمِلُوا۟ ʿamilū they have done
وَيَجْزِىَ wayajziya and recompense
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
أَحْسَنُوا۟ aḥsanū do good
بِٱلْحُسْنَى bil-ḥus'nā with the best

31. 1 That is, guidance and misguidance are in His hands alone; He grants guidance to whom He wills and casts whom He wills into the pit of misguidance, so that He may give the righteous the reward of their good deeds and give the evildoer the recompense for his evil deeds.
