Surah Yusuf (12) — Ayah 13

قَالَ إِنِّى لَيَحْزُنُنِىٓ أَن تَذْهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَخَافُ أَن يَأْكُلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَأَنتُمْ عَنْهُ غَـٰفِلُونَ ﴿13﴾
He [Ya‘qûb (Jacob)] said: "Truly, it saddens me that you should take him away. I fear lest a wolf should devour him, while you are careless of him."
قَالَ qāla He said
إِنِّى innī Indeed, [I]
لَيَحْزُنُنِىٓ layaḥzununī it surely saddens me
أَن an that
تَذْهَبُوا۟ tadhhabū you should take him
بِهِۦ bihi you should take him
وَأَخَافُ wa-akhāfu and I fear
أَن an that
يَأْكُلَهُ yakulahu would eat him
ٱلذِّئْبُ l-dhi'bu a wolf
وَأَنتُمْ wa-antum while you
عَنْهُ ʿanhu of him
غَـٰفِلُونَ ghāfilūna (are) unaware
