إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿33﴾
Verily, he used not to believe in Allâh, the Most Great,
إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, he

(Ayah 34,33) {اِنَّهٗ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ … :} The reason for the punishment is that his relationship with Allah was such that he did not have faith in Him, meaning he did not acknowledge Him at all, or he had associated partners with Him, and his relationship with the servants was such that not only did he not feed the needy himself, but he did not even encourage others to feed them. He neither recognized the right of Allah nor the right of His servants.

4. 1. By "روح" is meant Jibril (Gabriel) ؑ; due to his great status, he is mentioned separately, otherwise he is also included among the angels. Or by "روح" is meant human souls which are taken up to the heavens after death, as mentioned in some narrations. There is much difference of opinion regarding the definition of this "day," as we have explained at the beginning of Alif Lam Meem Sajdah.
